Financial Accountant

Introduction:

We are actively recruiting for an Entry Level Financial Accountant to join our team in Kilkenny on a 9-month maternity contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to work within a fast paced and experienced finance team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Prepare the quarterly management accounts in a timely manner from the books for first entry to: 

  • Fixed asset register, Bank reconciliations, 
  • Preparation of work in progress calculations under FRS102 rules 
  • Turnover and Supplier reconciliations 
  • Preparation of accruals and prepayments ledgers 
  • Necessary tax reconciliations, payroll both national and international, VAT etc 

Work closely with the commercial department and project managers to ensure: 

  • Valuations and Invoices for work completed are performed promptly and in accordance with company policy and the governing contract 
  • Payment of the certified amounts are made promptly and within established credit terms 
  • Follow up and progress outstanding Invoices and Valuations both internally and externally 

Aid the financial accountants across the group in the preparation of their quarterly management accounts. 

Aid in responding to year end audit queries as directed by the Financial Accountant. 

Ad hoc tasks assigned by the financial accountant as required. 

Education/Experience Requirement 

  • Bachelor Level or higher in a related qualification, be working towards qualification as ACA, or ACCA 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

  • Results focused and capable of self-management and working independently to resolve issues and identify solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum Diploma Level EHS or H&S course completed
  • Willing to travel for day visits to Construction Projects if required
  • Full time site-based role if required on specific larger projects
