Design Lead

Asgard are market leaders in the area of Cleanroom Construction and Engineering in Ireland.
We are currently hiring for a Design Lead to join our growing project team and work on leading cleanroom projects in Ireland and throughout Europe.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Ensuring the design team delivers drawings and documents and the delivery of the design brief/deliverables using your technical building expertise.
• Liaising with the Design Manager/ Project Engineer Manager to complete the design of projects and to ensure all the requirements quoted are included in the design.
• Reviewing specifications and documents to ensure all design deliverables are met in a timely manner. Propose cost effective products and solutions while meeting specifications and requirements
• Reviewing and quality checking design drawings, documents and procurement schedules with the Project Manager/Project Engineer prior to issue.
• Reporting directly to supervisors/team leaders to ensure deadlines are met and details of the project are produced accurately and efficiently.
• Liaising with the project management teams to update documents where necessary.
• Ensure that handover documentation is compiled and issued appropriately.
• Providing information along with bills of materials to the procurement department to allow material orders.
• Visiting site to problem solve, ensure constructability and record survey information.
• Issuing documents to clients as requested.
• Liaise with the Client and other stakeholders as required to ensure a smooth handover of the design package.
• Production of technically sound architectural deliverables (drawings, specification, schedules) using Revit, in accordance with project standards and schedule.
• Ensure all design work conforms to standards and is buildable. Contribute to the development of architectural standards and solutions.
• Responsible for planning of resources on projects ahead of schedule and project kick off where possible.

Key Person Requirements Specification:
• Level 7 or 8 Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering or equivalent desired.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
• BIM Qualification desired
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Strong problem solving abilities and leading with a sense of urgency
• Organised with a high attention to detail.
• Project Management qualification/diploma or equivalent desired.
• Knowledge of design software not limited to Revit and Navisworks.
• Proven track record of ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise deadlines using own initiative.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Quantity Surveyor

Introduction:
Asgard Cleanroom Solutions is looking to recruit a full-time Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic candidates of all levels to join a progressive company.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant construction-related degree or industry experience. Experience in cleanroom/ fit outs would be a bonus, but not essential. This role will be based in Kilkenny, Ireland with travel required to our sites both nationwide and abroad.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure and price tenders, including seeking quotes from Suppliers & Sub-contractors
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, construction managers and construction supervisors to discuss and resolve issues and to ensure the project runs efficiently
  • Monitor costs from vendors and subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues and in conjunction with the Project Manager, deal with cost overruns and recovery
  • Prepare internal/client cost reports as and when required
  • Prepare interim applications for payment and assess sub-contractor/supplier applications
  • Keep your manager fully advised of any issue/risk which has arisen or might arise, which could affect the business/project

The ideal candidate will also:

  • Be enthusiastic and pro-active
  • Be a good communicator with drive and ambition
  • Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and budgets
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the commercial aspect of projects
  • Be fully competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and/or Conquest would be an advantage, but is not essential

Project Manager

Purpose of the Role
Managing the Project Team with the supervision of all contract construction activities. Ensuring that the project is installed safely, to a high quality, in a timely fashion, and within budget.

Reporting to – Construction Manager

Authorities

  • Order materials.
  • Issue instructions to subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of all on site construction activities.
  • Implementing all project related quality procedures.
  • Implementing all quality and safety procedures and ensuring that all personnel and sub-contractors are in compliance with these procedures.
  • Making sure that all documentation is in place to allow works to proceed.
  • Ensuring that agreed construction schedules are in place and agreed with the client before commencement, and monitoring progress to ensure that relevant targets are achieved.
  • Monitoring non-conformances and ensuring that relevant reports are completed and reviewed with construction director within two weeks of occurrence.
  • Ensuring that all materials, plant, sub-contractors and labour are allocated to the project in sufficient time to ensure that target dates are met.
  • Ensure that all scope changes are communicated back to the commercial department and approval is obtained prior to commencement of scope change site activity.

Education/Experience Requirement

  • 2 Years+ in a related role.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Responsibilities:

Design Development: Create detailed and innovative cleanroom designs, Strong construction detail ability and understanding.

Collaboration: work closely with the project managers, Construction, Commercial and Control and other stakeholders, to provide technical design expertise.

Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies to assess design requirements, space utilisation, and cleanroom performance.

Model/Drawing output: Utilising 3D software (Revit/Navisworks currently) and CAD to produce accurate and visually compelling cleanroom designs allowing for detail drawings & models.

Materials and Equipment Selection: Research and recommend appropriate materials, fixtures, and equipment for cleanroom construction, considering performance, safety, and budget.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that designs adhere to industry best practices, quality standards, and relevant codes and regulations.

Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their design requirements, address queries, and present design proposals.

Project Documentation: Prepare and review design documentation, including technical reports and specifications.

 

Additional skills and experience

  • A Strong Revit user
  • Knowledge of Dynamo Scripting and 3rd Party plugins is preferred
  • Navisworks
  • BIMCollab experience preferred
  • Understanding of ISO19650 would be preferred

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Introduction:
Asgard Modular Manufacturing are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its off-site manufacturing team specialising in the manufacture of “turn-key” cleanroom modules, data center modules and utility plantrooms for “blue chip” clients.
The off-site manufactured modules incorporate many different design features and installations including the following:

  • Steel / aluminium structural frames
  • Internal & external architectural finishes
  • Mechanical & electrical installations

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and collating accurate, detailed, and timely tenders based on drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other information to secure profitable work orders. The role will involve sourcing subcontractor and supplier quotations, analysing information for ambiguity, risk and qualification and seeking clarification where necessary.

The successful candidate will assist in the ongoing development of systems and procedures used in tendering and will keep up to date with contractual changes and other developments within the industry. They will work both in a team and on their own initiative and will have excellent IT skills including familiarity with MS office applications including Excel and a QS/Estimating or related package.

Requirements:
Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience in an estimating/surveying role in a contracting or a specialist contracting background together with a relevant third level qualification.

Job Description:

Job Title: Architectural Designer/BIM Technician

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 5.00pm; Friday 8.30 to 3.30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for producing drawings, details, door schedules etc. primarily through Revit 3D models. Designs will be issued for client approval through design submittals and status of each submittal will be maintained on a submittal summary log.
  • Producing product data technical submittals for client approval and the status of each submittal will be maintained on a submittal summary log.
  • Liaising with the Design Manager & Design Contracts Manager as well as architects, consultants, engineers and clients in relation to all aspects of project designs.
  • Attending client design review meetings to review design progress and co-ordinate with other designers.
  • Producing panel/component schedules for materials required to construct the project following client approval of the design.
  • Documentation of design hazards identified during the design stage and communicating residual risks to the PSDP through a Design Risk Assessment.
  • Liaising with Design contracts Manager and the site management team to update documents where necessary during the construction stage of the project.
  • Ensuring that handover documentation is compiled and issued appropriately throughout the design and construction phase of the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Level 7 or higher in a related qualification desired.
  • 2+ Years’ experience in a related role (Graduates should also apply)
  • Proficient in Revit Design
  • Knowledge of Irish / UK Building Regulations
