Introduction:
An excellent opportunity has become available for a full time Project Controls and Planning Manager to join a high growth, progressive market leader group in the design, manufacture and construction of controlled environments for electric vehicle battery manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will join the Senior Leadership Team and lead the project controls and planning function, working closely with the site delivery/operations and business development teams, reporting to the Commercial Director to develop and deliver a best-in-class project controls function. This role will be based in our Tyne & Wear offices but will require periodic travel across the UK, Europe & USA. This role offers a market leading salary, expenses, and 25 days annual leave.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of detailed and integrated project programmes using Primavera P6
- Support the PMT managing activities of the project and programme, gathering and checking data
- Represent the business as a Senior Manager in client facing environments, pre and post contract
- Support and contribute to tender activities as part of the business development team
- Produce regular management reports, including programme level reports
- Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting and assist with the development of a format that supports and guides the company’s accounting and management information systems
- Develop, gather and maintain project dashboarding and KPI’s
- Validate, understand and develop cost forecasts tracking changes of scope to advise commercial implications
- Execute cost and change control protocols in accordance with project and company procedures
- Undertake performance analysis of projects through use of earned value
- Identify and participate in developing initiatives to add value and improve the project opportunities, performance and procedures
- Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve internal systems, processes, procedures, templates and products to yield opportunity and efficiency with improved service
- Develop the team, set objectives and determine training requirements
- Provide support and guidance to the project team
Requirements:
- Degree qualified, with accreditation preferable
- Demonstrable experience within a similar role for 10+ years
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different stakeholders
- Expert knowledge using MS Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledge and experience utilising cost management tools
- Project lifecycle experience
