Introduction:
Asgard Cleanroom Solutions is looking to recruit a full-time Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with 5+ years’ EHS experience in a construction related role. Knowledge of the Pharma industry is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will assist the Health & Safety department in maintaining its ISO45001 accredited health and safety management system and will collaborate with various departments to promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
This role will be based in Kilkenny, Ireland with travel required to our sites both nationwide and abroad. This role offers a highly competitive salary, expenses, and 25 days annual leave.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formulate, implement and review EHS policies and procedures in accordance with Irish regulations and industry best practices
- Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all levels of the organisation
- Stay abreast of Irish EHS regulations and standards
- Monitor changes in legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly
- Coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure compliance and permits are obtained
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations
- Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans
- Conduct drills and training exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures
- Oversee environmental programs, including waste management, pollution prevention and sustainability initiatives
- Conduct regular EHS audits to assess compliance
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors
- Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations and corrective actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
- Professional certification in EHS (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable
- Proven experience as an EHS Manager
- In-depth knowledge of Irish EHS regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
